June 2011	Effective June 6, 2011 ERCO Worldwide will implement the following price increases for sodium chlorate effective immediately or as contracts allow: $40.00 CAD per metric tonne on Canadian dollar based accounts $80.00 USD per short ton on US dollar based accounts €30.00 EURO per metric tonne on EURO based accounts As the pulp and paper market recovery has continued over the last nine months the demand for sodium chlorate has followed resulting in extremely high industry operating rates. The high operating rates limit our ability to optimize our production and distribution and these additional costs must be passed on to the end user. Input cost pressure in power, raw materials and transportation are also a factor in this price increase. The above price increases are being implemented in all market segments and are in addition to previously announced price changes.
May 2011	ERCO Worldwide is proud to announce that we are the recipients of all four of the railway safety awards the company qualifies for, in the 2010 shipment year. These awards speak to ERCO’s commitment to our Responsible Care ethic as it is applied to railcar management practices and most notably the efforts of individuals at the plants loading and shipping cars, day after day. ERCO Worldwide’s railway safety performance has been recognized as follows: CP Chemical Shipper Safety Award: This is awarded by facility, requiring a minimum 400 shipments per facility and 0 NARS over the course of the year. Both Buckingham and Hargrave have won the award for 2010. This is Buckingham’s 11th consecutive award and Hargrave’s 6th. CN Safe Handling Award: This is awarded by company in three levels, Gold, Silver and Bronze. ERCO was awarded the Gold level award, requiring a minimum of 1000 shipments and 0 NARS over the course of the year. UP Pinnacle Safety Award: This is awarded by company, requiring 0 NARS “Non-Accidental Releases” over the course of the year. NS Thoroughbred Safety Award: This is awarded by company and by facility, ERCO has won the Corporate award requiring 0 NARS over the course of the year, regardless of number of shipments. Valdosta would also directly win the facility award however do not meet the minimum shipment criterion by facility.
September 2010	On September 13, 2010 ERCO Worldwide announced the following price increases for sodium chlorate effective immediately or as contracts allow: $35.00 CAD / tonne on Canadian dollar accounts $30.00 USD / ton on US dollar accounts The current strong market fundamentals in the pulp sector have resulted in a substantial increase in demand for sodium chlorate in the last 6 months. Input cost pressures continue particularly in the areas of electricity and transportation. The above price increases are being implemented in all market segments.
August 2010	ERCO Worldwide is proud to announce that once again we are the recipients of the Canadian Pacific Railway Safety Award. Congratulations to our Buckingham facility for the safe handling of their CP shipments. Our Buckingham facility has won this award for the 10th consecutive year, since inception. ERCO Buckingham is one of 3 recipients to have consecutively and successfully achieved the Canadian Pacific Railway Safety Award since inception.
April 2009	The Buckingham ERCO Worldwide plant located in Gatineau (Quebec) was honored in joining the Energy Savers’ Circle for it's exceptional performance in energy efficiency. The Award is given to major industrial sites that have significantly reduced it's electrical consumption by taking part in Hydro-Québec’s ENERGY WISE Programs. ERCO joined some 30 other companies that have been recognized since 2003 for their commitment to energy efficiency. “Hydro-Québec feels that it is important to pay tribute to companies that are taking practical steps to conserve energy and encourage them to keep up the good work,” said Louise Gravel, Manager – Major Customers.
March 2009	ERCO Worldwide is proud to announce that once again we are the recipients of the Canadian Pacific Railway Safety Award. Congratulations to our Buckingham and Hargrave facilities who had zero incidents with their CP shipments. Our Buckingham facility has won this award for the 9th consecutive year, since inception. This is the 3rd year for the Hargrave facility. ERCO Buckingham is one of 4 recipients to have consecutively and successfully achieved the Canadian Pacific Railway Safety Award since inception.
March 2009	Congratulations to our ERCO Worldwide, Port Edwards facility who are the proud recipient of the 2009 Union Pacific Chemical Transportation Safety Pinnacle Award. The facility is one of 40 winners who exhibited safe loading practices and zero non-accident releases. This is an outstanding achievement and clearly demonstrates our commitment to the safe transportation of hazardous material. The total population of hazardous material shippers exceeds 1,100 - this award truly recognizes great performance.
March 2009	Congratulations to our Mininco Plant who are the proud recipients of an award from the Mininco’s Anniversary Committee, for Outstanding Contribution to the success of this year's activities in Mininco, Chile. The Mininco's Anniversary Committee is the team responsible for organizing the celebrations for the town's anniversary every year and is made up of representative from different community organizations.
February 2009	ERCO's Port Edwards facility was presented the "Innovative Business of the Year" award at the Heart of Wisconsin Business and Economic Alliance award dinner. The Port Edwards facility was also nominated “Manufacturer of the Year” by the local Chamber of Commerce.
September 2008	ERCO Worldwide's Mininco Plant (Chile) was awarded as Outstanding Technological Project during this year EXPOQUIM, an industrial fair that reunites national and international companies operating in Chile, mainly in the Chemical business. ERCO's project was chosen among many due its high technological level, its efficiency and excellent environmental performance. It was also highlighted its early approach to the community and other stakeholders and the good relationship it has built with them. The award was presented during the opening ceremony on September 2nd, 2008 in the Estación Mapocho Cultural Center (Santiago, Chile). Plant Manager, Mr. Aldo Melussa Illesca, accepted the award in behalf of the company.
September 2008	Congratulation to ERCO Worldwide, Chile plant. We are proud to announce that The ACHS (Chilean Safety Association) has awarded ERCO, Chile for achieving 200,000 MH without an accident.
July 2008	ERCO Worldwide is proud to announce that once again we are the recipients of the Canadian Pacific Railway Safety Award. Congratulations to our Buckingham and Hargrave Employees!! Our Buckingham plant is one of 4 recipients who for the 8th consecutive year, since inception, has successfully achieved the Canadian Pacific Railway Safety Award, shipping in excess of 400 hazardous goods cars with no releases or overweight cars.
April 30th, 2008	ERCO Worldwide were once again recipients of the CN 2007 Safe Handling Award. These awards are handed out yearly to those shippers that move hazardous materials with CN and have zero non-accidental releases (NAR) for the entire year. Congratulations to our all our employees who make this award possible.
April 30th, 2008	Congratulation to ERCO Worldwide, Saskatoon Employees who received two awards. The CN 2007 Safe Handling Award recognizes the diligent loading and shipping of our rail cars, and the Chlorine Institute Process Safety Management Award (2005-2007) recognizes the sustained high performance of our plant operations, free of significant environmental incidents and/or releases.
August 8th, 2007	ERCO Worldwide Announces US$95 Million Expansion of Port Edwards Chlor-alkali Facility. - Superior Plus Income Fund (the “Fund”) announced on August 8th, that ERCO Worldwide a division of the Fund will be converting its Port Edwards chlor-alkali facility from mercury based technology to membrane technology. The investment in the facility conversion is estimated to be US$95 million (including capitalized interest and working capital of $8 million). Start-up of the new state-of-the-art technology is projected to the last half of 2009, pending the completion of the permitting process.
November 2006	ERCO Worldwide Inc. was named the "2006 Manufacturer of the Year" at the Valdosta, Georgia, U.S.A. Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce's Salute to Manufacturers breakfast held on Thursday, November 16. The award is selected by an independent panel of judges who recognizes a company for its economic impact on the community, corporate citizenship and programs that promote a balance of work and family life. Congratulations to all our employees at the Valdosta, Ga. facility.
July 2006	ERCO Worldwide, Grande Prairie facility received the EnviroVista award presented by Alberta Environment. The award recognizes facilities with at least five years of exemplary emissions performance, an audited environmental management system and five years without any prosecutions under provincial legislation. Don Smiegielski, plant manager, says, “the award means a lot to the facility and acknowledges the care by our people for the environment”.
June 2006	Superior Plus Inc. announced that ERCO Worldwide would close its Bruderheim sodium chlorate manufacturing facility late 2006, removing 80,000 tons from the marketplace.
May 2006	ERCO Worldwide received the Norfolk Southern Thoroughbred Chemical Safety Award for 2005. The award is presented for incident-free handling of hazardous chemicals by rail. Norfolk Southern Corporation quoted “Your incident –free handling of hazardous chemicals on Norfolk Southern’s rail network measures up to the high standards expected of the rail and chemical industries regarding safety and security”. ERCO thanks all sites for the safe shipping of products throughout its North American routing.
April 20th, 2006	Congratulations once again to our ERCO Worldwide, Buckingham and Hargrave employees!!! For the sixth consecutive year since its inception, the Buckingham plant has successfully achieved the Canadian Pacific Railway Safety Award, shipping in excess of 400 hazardous goods cars with no releases or overweight cars. Our Hargrave facility qualified this year and also received the CPR Safety Award for 2005.
April 19th, 2006	Congratulations to our ERCO Worldwide, Port Edwards employees on receiving the Chlorine Institute Chairman’s Award, Level 10 award for working 5,000,000 work hours without an Away From Work Case. This is the first time this award has been recognized since the inception of the Chlorine Institute Safety Program initiated in 1991. The Port Edwards facility also received the “Board of Directors Special Achievement Award” and the “The Chlorine Institute, Inc. Honor Award”. The facility has worked over 37 years without a Lost Time Injury. In that time period, the facility was owned and operated by BASF 1967 – 1980 and Vulcan Chemicals 1980 – 2005.
